Training Attendance and Playing Time
At SMYO Soccer, we are committed to creating a positive, developmental environment for all players. As part of our league agreement, each player is expected to receive roughly half a game of playing time over the course of a season — and we work hard to honor that commitment.
However, with only two training sessions per week and a total of 8 games per season, our time together is limited. Each session matters.
Missing practices can significantly affect a player’s:
- Technical growth
- Understanding of team roles and systems
- Chemistry with teammates
When players miss training regularly, they may not be adequately prepared to contribute safely or effectively in games. In those cases, their playing time may be reduced not as a punishment, but to maintain fairness, team balance, and safety.
We understand families juggle many responsibilities. But we ask that you prioritize training attendance and communicate clearly with your coach when conflicts arise. Your support helps us uphold the values of teamwork, growth, and equal opportunity — the foundation of grassroots soccer.
